Cheating Is Degrading!!

Cheating is probably something many told you about and that it is something you should never do. Maybe you have done it without even realizing. Many kids cheat so they can pass tests or get a good score or because they are too lazy to study. According to TFK experts, cheating starts out in elementary school and becomes a habit as you do it more. To most, cheating is just peeking at tests. But there is more to cheating than what meets the eye. There are different types of cheating but the main 3 are:

1.          Looking at others tests
2.          Doing assignments together and skipping your part.
3.          Plagiarism

Just in case if you don’t know what number #3 is, plagiarism is taking stuff from the Internet and giving it off as your own work. You probably learned about consequences that you might have to face for everything you do, Bad or Good. Thus, there are consequences for cheating as well.

For cheating the worst consequences are Juvenile courts and refferals. So do remember not to encourage cheating as it becomes a habit that might remain with you forever. So in short, do not cheat.

I have Heard of a Land :)

I’VE HEARD OF A LAND…

I’ve heard of a land
Where life is great,
The sun shines bright,
The ground is infinite,
The grass is lush and light.

I’ve heard of a land
Where skies are always blue,
Wishes always come true,
Goals are always accomplished,
There is no limit.

I’ve heard of a land
Where promises are true,
There are no fears, just but delight
There is freedom and justice with no fright.

This land is America

Camping with Scounting Clique!

“Whoo, Hoo!” I yelled as I ran downstairs to ask my mom if today is the day where I get to go to scout camp, and she says yes. So with that answer I took a shower as fast as I could, packed my backpack, grabbed my swim shorts and forced my mom to get in the car. We drove for 20 minutes and we arrived at my camp. It is a place where you feel like you can have never ending fun. The field is about one acre surrounded by a whole bunch of benches and on the opposite side of the parking lot was a humongous lake. I ran down the hill and went to my group. There a camp leader explained that we will be divided into groups and that each group will have a leader. We did millions of fun activities. For example we did swimming, forester, craftsmen, ready man, and geology. When we did swimming, we played Marco Polo the whole time. We changed into our normal camp dress and headed for the next station. We ran to a picnic bench where an old man taught us about 6 types of plants and trees and our group leader told us that station was called forester. On our way to our next station, we played a few hand games and hurried over to a cluster of benches surrounded by some long fencing. Our leader told us that this station was called craftsman. The man who was leading the station showed us how to make different stuff like boxes and frames. Not only that but he taught us how to use mauls, saws, and screwdrivers. Right after that we ran all the way to the hill where we ate lunch. After an hour passed by, we went to a tavern. Our leader told us that the tavern station was called ready man. In ready man we learned about health and safety. We even learned what to do in dangerous situations. Nobody was excited for geology which unfortunately was our next station. Everyone walked wordlessly to the next station. The good thing was that the man cheered us up by teaching us experiments we can do with rocks. After camp, I told my mom how epic the camp was. This was the same thing that happened for a week not necessarily in that order but boy was it fun. I knew that a bunch of other kids also had fun. I think this is a great camp. I think I should also tell my friends to join boy scouts.
P.S. I might be coming to this camp again next year.

Trip to India!

My eyes opened to hear steel plates clanging on the wooden edge of the bed. I sat up on the bed and saw that my younger cousin whose name is Prathiti was playing with steel plates. This is almost an everyday thing. I convinced her to stop the noise but instead, she started crying and she ran to my aunt. Prathiti is the type of 3 year old that when you shout at her she starts crying immediately Now that you know the story of my younger cousin Prathiti there’s another child but he is no better than Prathiti. I got off the bed and started brushing my teeth. ARUSH! My mom shouted. I ran to the living room where the shout came from. There I saw broken glass and standing next to it was my brother Arush. Every hour Arush spills or breaks something no matter what. Now Arush is a different story than Prathiti. If you shout or hit him, he hits you back. He’s just 4 years old but really mean. Even though I’m 6-7 years older they just kill me. I have a few friends in India so I decided to play with them. I came back just in time for dinner. After my dinner, I heard a weird crying from the living room. It turned out that my mom was crying. This brings us to a very important issue and the reason why I’m in India. You see my mom’s dad died. It’s a sour thing I don’t like to talk about considering the fact he’s done a lot for me but it is also important to talk about him considering the fact that he is one of the most versatile human being I have ever seen in my Life. My grandpa is a very generous, nice, and a creative man. He is man with tremendous patience who loved kids and loved to work with them. A man with a very big heart who had time for every person he is acquainted with. His superb creativity is what enticed people around. On the whole he is the most delightful person who was loved by kith and kin alike.

Indeed, he developed the colony that he lived in. he almost planted every single plant in the colony. He is friends with every neighbor irrespective of the age. Basically as my mom puts it, my age and my word knowledge to describe him is simply not sufficient. To put it simple, in my words he is an epic grandpa.

With him gone the heart of the family is gone. Basically, the three grandchildren the above two that I mentioned and I aren’t going to change much. But the world for three people, my mom, my aunt and especially my grandma is going to change tremendously. I don’t know how but I just know it.

Quality vs. quantity

Today during our lunch at home, we had our casual conversation at table. Since I am starting my fourth year at school, my parents told me that I had to make loads of friends once school started. I told them it’s going to be hard because I already have friends that are my type. You know how it’s easier to make friends that are your type because you have everything in common so you get along just fine. Unfortunately, they did not see my logic. They say it’s healthier to have different types of friends. From kindergarten to third grade I had just three friends. Their names are Sanjith, Nikhil, and Dylan. I am really close to them. I Love being with them and do almost everything with them. Let’s just say, they are my Best friends. But, my parents said the minimum friends I should have is ten considering the fact that Nikhil has twenty. Wow, how does that matter?  They also came up with their past experiences like when they were kids how they managed to have tons of friends and how cool it was and etc. somehow, I could never buy that. However my Dad insisted that every week he would ask me if I made any new friends. Now I am nervous and besides Sanjith and Dylan are the only friend left ‘because Nikhil went to India for good. So now, I have to make new friends.   Anyways do you think it’s a good idea to have more friends that are okay or is it a good idea to have few friends that are super good.

Experience as an Explorer

Today when I went to the park the first person I noticed was Tarran. I met him a few days ago and realized he comes to the park every day like me, pretty much the same time. We started playing.  Initially, we got chased by Tarran’s brother for a while for fun. Few minutes later I told him about this lake close by. He agreed to join me to explore the lake. We had to travel really far. While travelling we had to take loads of turns, pass by sharp trees and heavy trunks. At this time we realized we were lost. We even got spooked. We thought we heard mountain lions. Usually mountain lions are found in deep and thick woods in the neighborhood. So, hearing mountain lions was not something uncommon but kids were prohibited in those areas. We started sharing stories about seeing mountain lions before.  While we were talking I was devastated to see a fence. That fence was an indication of no trespassing and I have never been so far before. At this time, my friend almost freaked about taking the wrong path. I was nervous and tensed. I thought I was lost forever and I also realized that it was a bad idea to misguide my friend. While we were worried, we luckily spotted few old men who were taking a stroll. I was so happy to see them as I could recognize few of them from my neighborhood. I immediately approached them and asked for the directions. Once we got the directions we got on our bikes and rode the path they told us to take. On the way we met loads of kids, we even saw my third grade classmate. Now that was an indication that we were almost near the park. I was never this relieved.
I have learnt one thing though, while doing something mischievously mysterious at least keep one person informed.

Lesson from a Lie!

One day when I was at school I heard my classmates talking about this computer game called Wizard 101. They were almost raving about it. I so wanted to be part of it. So, I walked up to them and said I beat the whole game. Then they started testing me weather I was lying or not, by asking me questions that included the characters of the game. Unfortunately I had no clue. That’s when they came to a conclusion that I was lying but I kept negotiating with them. When I got home I told my mom about the lie and when she asked me why I did it, the only thing I could think of was that I wanted to be accepted and included in the discussion. That’s when she says, there was no need to lie to be part of that discussion. I might as well say I didn’t know that a game like that existed and I wanted to know more. They would have been more than happy to share details about it. Actually she was right. Why didn’t I think of that? Well, what do u expect, I am just nine.  As the day passed, mom downloaded wizard 101. At first it seemed difficult then I started to get the hang of it. Every day I played wizard 101 to go to higher levels. I even went to a higher level than one of my classmates. But I still felt miserable that I told a lie though I eventually got over it.
The lesson is simple; I don’t have to lie to be part of something. It saves some misery and embarrassment.
